Our story
Hi there!
We are Anna and Eveliina, the Founders of Arctic Power Berries.
They say that you shouldn’t start a business with your best friend. That it would ruin your friendship. For us it didn’t go that way - it has made us stick together even stronger.
We made a promise to each other in the beginning when we started that if berries were ever to come between us and break our friendship, it was going to be the berries that were to go. So far, 12 years into running a company together, we haven’t needed to get back to that promise.
Like many other products and brands, Arctic Power Berries was born out of something that we initially needed for ourselves. We grew up in Finnish Lapland, where wild berry harvesting is a thing and people eat a lot of berries. The wild berry health benefits are a common knowledge and berries play a big part in everyone’s daily eating habits.
We were used to picking wild-grown berries from our backyards and eating them in our breakfast bowls. After travelling together around the world and ending up living in London, we missed the super tasty, nutrient-packed wild berries that we were used to eating. The farm-grown, expensive, tasteless supermarket berries packed in small plastic containers didn’t quite cut it for us, so on each trip back home to Finland, we started bringing back berry powders for ourselves in our suitcases.
Berry powders were not really a thing in Finland, and still aren’t, because people pick their own berries and freeze them for winter, but berry powders still existed, and we thought it was a brilliant way to eat berries: The same real berries, the same nutrients, just in a compact, handy powder form that has an intense flavour and a long shelf life. Perfect for our London life!
That was where the idea started from. We loved the products and figured that if we liked them so much, maybe other people would like them too? Perhaps other Nordic people in the UK to start with?

We never intended to start a company, it just happened by an accident. As we say, it was a random idea that got out of hand. In the beginning we had no money, contacts, or any idea of how to run a food company in the UK.
We have learned everything by doing. Running a small company together has been a journey. It certainly hasn’t been easy, and at times things have felt difficult and unfair, but our entrepreneurial mindsets have always wanted to sort out problems and carry on.
We love what we do and are very passionate about it. We are very proud of our high-quality products and what we have achieved with them. We love our regular customers, the health community we have created and the positive feedback and encouragement we keep getting.
